Reviews

What do I hate about reviews on Yelp?  People bring down the rating of my restaurant because they think they’re food critics.  Then again, I suppose that’s what Yelp is for.  To make people think they have the slightest clue of what good food tastes like.  Ok, perhaps I’m a bit bias.  But the way this one guy describes the food does not sound anything like what the food tastes like.  ”The chefs/cooks like thyme too much.”  What the fuck does that even mean?  I, for one, love thyme.  But our restaurant doesn’t use thyme very much at all.

The thing that pissed me off the most, is the way he ended his review.  And this is when I remembered who the little prick was that came to dinner.  He was upset because one of the broads in his party lost her purse.  And I remember personally clearing the table and not seeing a purse there.  They come back about 15 minutes later and said she lost her purse in the restaurant.  I told her that I cleared the table and saw nothing, but if it turned up I would hold onto it.  The writer of the review then goes on to say that he will never come back to the establishment because I showed no concern.

And for this reason alone, not because of the food or the service or the ambiance, the guest will not return.  Because he/she believes that we “took the ladies purse, and or did not show any concern for the loss of it.”  I’m sorry but, F off.  Personally, I’m glad the person will not be a guest at our restaurant anymore.  And furthermore, I’m glad she lost her purse.  I hope her fucking keys were in it, along with her ID, credit cards, and birth control.  I hope she gets pregnant and gets disowned by her family then has to spend her money going through therapy.

I really don’t wish that upon anyone…ok, maybe just a little

Bottom line, I love reviews.  But if you’re going to write a review on a restaurant, write it about the food and service.  Because that’s what a restaurant is there for.  If you want to complain about a lost purse anywhere…write about an airport.
